Nadine Zemon

Nadine is passionate about advocating for patient participation and representation in research, from study design to dissemination and implementation.

Nadine Zemon has been a dedicated community scientist at the University of Florida Clinical & Translational Science Institute (CTSI) for the past nine years. She actively contributes to the CTSI Learning Health System Committee, collaborating with UF Health system leaders, College of Medicine department chairs, and other Health Science Center leaders to identify, select, and implement learning health system projects. Nadine is also a Co-Investigator of the OneFlorida+ Executive Committee and Co-chair of the OneFlorida+ Engagement Committee.

Beyond the local level, Nadine serves as a patient representative on PCORnet’s Steering Committee, Executive Management Team, and Engagement Committee. In these roles, she collaborates with other Clinical Research Networks and contributes to several workgroups and projects.

Nadine enjoys participating in a wide range of projects. She has assisted the Arts in Medicine team with an HIV 50+ PSA video and delivered presentations on the importance of establishing trustworthiness in research. She has also worked with a curriculum expert to develop an online training program for future citizen scientists and contributed to the ADAPTABLE aspirin study team’s recruitment and dissemination efforts. Additionally, Nadine has presented on community engagement to UF Dissemination and Implementation Science students.

Her professional background as a registered nurse includes several years as a pediatric emergency room team leader and over a decade as the nurse manager of an employee health unit. With an interest in integrative medicine, she became a licensed massage therapist and established a 10-year private practice. Later, driven by her passion for art and design, she earned a degree in graphic design technology and worked as a graphic designer for a local performing arts venue.

As a volunteer, Nadine has been a board member of Gainesville Harvest (now Bread of the Mighty Food Bank), a founding member of MANTAS (an organization for mature and non-traditional aged students), a founding member of the PrimeTime Institute for Lifelong Learning, and a leader/facilitator for Elder Options’ Diabetes Self-Management workshops.

Nadine is passionate about advocating for patient participation and representation in research, from study design to dissemination and implementation. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, entertaining, event planning, and dabbling in digital art.
