Our program partners with diverse organizations that enrich the overall experience, while our Community Scientists actively contribute through their unique expertise.
UF Health Cancer Center
The University of Florida Health Cancer Center blends comprehensive patient care and innovative research in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. In 2023, the center became the 72nd NCI-designated cancer center and the only one based at a public university in the state of Florida.
It boasts a membership of more than 300 researchers and clinicians from across the University of Florida and UF Health, the Southeast’s most comprehensive academic health center. The Cancer Center and its members are dedicated to providing leading-edge cancer care and conducting original research for the prevention, early diagnosis, and treatment of cancer.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH & ENGAGEMENT (COE)
The Community Scientist Program is proud to partner with the UF Health Cancer Center through the Office of Community Outreach & Engagement (COE). The COE is dedicated to understanding the burden of cancer in the 23-county catchment area, forming partnerships with the community and scientists, conducting outreach, and facilitating the implementation of evidence-based cancer risk reduction and screening to ensure that catchment area needs and disparities are addressed. To learn more about the impactful work of the COE, we encourage you to visit their website and explore their initiatives.
OneFlorida+ Clinical Research Network
The OneFlorida+ Clinical Research Network unites researchers, clinicians, patients, and stakeholders across Florida and in select Georgia and Alabama cities to address some of today’s biggest health challenges. The network’s 14 academic institutions and health systems provide care for about 16 million patients in the Southeast, creating a dynamic regional resource to facilitate healthcare research and improve health, health care, and health policy.
